Production of drinking water from the sea
Metis Water designs and manufactures a wide range of seawater desalination, reverse osmosis units and plants made on skids or in containers.
Our containerized units are made inside ISO containers, thus saving on dispatch expenses as no additional packaging is required. Our containerized units are designed for fixed or mobile installations, and for indoor or outdoor installations.
For both skid-built and containerized desalination units, the plants are delivered fully assembled, wired and tested at our production unit before shipment in order to minimize installation and connection work at the customer's site.
Our reverse osmosis desalinators are designed to produce fresh water (salinity less than 500 ppm) from seawater with salinity up to 55000 ppm and for flow rates up to 5000 m3/day. The produced water can be made potable with the addition of a potabilization section.
Each plant is compactly constructed and ready to use. Only the main connections of water inlet and permeate and brine outlet manifolds need to be made.
Automated operation makes it easy to operate the seawater desalination plant.
The materials used are selected to ensure maximum longevity of the plant and to minimize routine maintenance; for example, the high-pressure seawater pipes are made of Duplex steel, while the low-pressure pipes are made of non-toxic PVC.
Each plant is equipped with a membrane washing system and dosing units for antiscale and acid in seawater and neutralizer (NaOH or other product) for permeate.
